Holiday Decoration and Organizing

Holiday decorations are essentially collections. They can carry a great deal of importance and memories, handed down through generations to us that we'll want to pass on to our kids. We want to use our favorite ornaments year after year, so proper storage is essential. That will enable us to find what we want, when we want it and in perfect condition.

Now that winter is arriving; it's time to organize our holiday decorations for fall décor to Christmas decor. Search your home for previous year decoration stuff. Some may be hiding in your garage, tucked away on shelves, and hiding in the kitchen. Gather all the stuff in one place and start with your décor:

  1. Transition your fall décor to Christmas décor by starting with stuff that needs the least change, like a wreath. Change your rusty fall wreath with an evergreen, more Christmassy wreath.

  2. Then move forward to your lanterns; remove all the pumpkins arranged around it for fall décor and add some green bows on them to give a Christmas feel.

  3. A throw is the easiest way to transition from fall to Christmas decor. Change your fluffy, textured throws of fall and add some brightly colored plaids to layer in a little holiday cheer.

  4. Remove the pumpkins and dried stems from your shelves; amp it up with a few trees and reindeer.

Most of us enjoy holiday décor, but how can we organize holiday decorations to find them when we need them again easily? The answer is organization is the key to stress-free holidays!

  • Discard all worn and broken items.

  • Make sure only to use decorations that genuinely make you happy.

  • Donate all decorations you don't like anymore to your local charity.

  • After the holiday is over, organize the decoration stuff into water-tight bins. Clear, transparent, or color-tinted bins make it easy to identify the stuff. Use orange for fall, green & red for Christmas, and blue for Hanukkah.

  • If you don't have colored bins, then create color-coded labels! WE MAKE COLOR-CODED LABELS, CLICK CONTACT FOR MORE DETAILS!

  • For light items such as decorative pillows and wrapping paper, use extra-large bins.

  • Organize your holiday decoration in one place. But there is no problem with storing outdoor decoration in a shed or a garage, while basement and storeroom are best to keep indoor decorations
