We all share the love-hate relationship with winter. It’s finally the season when you can get snug and cozy, but also means dealing with freezing temps! It’s the season with lots of merriment but also entails the extra work in wearing our winter uniform! Yes, puffer jackets, scarves, thick sweaters, boots, and so much more. It’s sure take an extra work to pull up a winter look that you will eventually take off later in the day. But the most annoying part? It’s organizing your closet to prepare for the cold!

But here are 5 closet organizing hacks to try!

  1. Review your wardrobes. Before you can even start, you have to do the basic job of reviewing your clothes. Check everything you have inside your closet, including your summer clothes. Pull out everything to decide whether you can keep them, donate them, or simply trash them.

Keep them. Put all items that you can still use in a large storage bag then label them accordingly. Make sure all these items are clean before storing.Ditch them. Discard items that are clearly worn. You can donate those items that are still in fair conditions to local shelter or to friends who might need them. You can also make extra bucks from used clothes by selling them online. This is best for those clothes that you barely used or those that are still new with tags.

  2. Avoid overstuffing your closet. While you may feel the urge to stuff everything inside your closet, it is best to store your coats and cold accessories elsewhere. In fact, you can store your heavy coats, hats, gloves, and winter scarves in the entryway. This will help free up space in your closet and will give you the ability to reach out for these winter accessories more conveniently!

  3. Make use of hooks for jewelries, scarves, and accessories. Keep your closet organized by placing only those items that are really necessary in there. In that case, you can use hooks for your accessories, scarves, and jewelries. You can neatly place them at the back of the door or on your bedroom walls.

  4. Try folding! It’s so easy to get tempted to hang bulky sweaters inside your cabinet. While this can do well, but they take up lots of space. What you can do instead is to make your own partitions with the use of shelf risers to economize your vertical space. This will also ensure that your folded items won’t easily topple over.

  5. Consider adding additional lights. Most closets come with a single light above, which makes it hard for anyone to see clothes. This only leads to more clutter. To keep the cabinet well lit, consider adding a small battery powered light to give you extra illumination as winter season comes.

In a survey, most people say that the most cluttered space within their house is the bedroom closet. We understand how challenging it is to find an extra room to store your winter and seasonal clothing.
